Excited?? You bet I am! Being part of an exceptional group of ladies who share the same activities and speak the same language of sewing is spine tingling. What about you? Are you excited? Does it make you shiver with excitement and anticipation at what's coming next?

The job of president is a big one; one that I have been avoiding for quite some time. But now that I have accepted the responsibility, I pledge to do my best to keep our chapter active and healthy. I know I can do this with your support. Let’s all make 2011 a great year!

I would like to thank last year’s Chapter Advisory Board (CAB) for providing us with such wonderful programs allowing us to have so much fun. It’s a hard act to follow, but you’re (CAB) for 2011 is filled with exceptional ladies all dedicated to making our chapter one of the best in the USA. Everyone is excited and already working to provide you with exceptional programs and activities. Kudos to them!

Already we are off to a great start this year with the Sulky program "Thread Jazz for Quilting and Embellishing Needle and Thread Know-How". And what a success it was. February brings two exciting events, the ASG Region 3 meeting and workshop and a Neighborhood Group Leader meeting. March will find us bussing our way to the Original Sewing and Quilt Expo in Lakeland, Florida. April is just as exciting with a Perfect T-shirt class with Pamela Leggett. And that’s just through the first four months of the year. Watch our website and newsletter for more exciting programs throughout the year.

A famous president once said “Don’t ask what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country”. As your president, I say “Don’t ask what your chapter can do for you. Ask what you can do for your chapter”. The talent to make this chapter great is within our neighborhood groups. Yes, it’s YOU! Each and every one of us has a special talent waiting to be released. Don’t wait to be asked to present a program. Volunteer to show the rest of us how you did a special project. When we all work together, great things can happen. And I want this year to be the greatest.

So, with all this said, let’s begin having fun!
