Thanks to a generous donation from former member, Audrey Rupe, the Ocala Chapter was able to get a well known educator to come and teach our members. Eric Drexler from Sulky Threads was our instructor for the weekend. And wow, what a weekend it was. He filled our heads with knowledge about our machines, threads, needles and bobbins.

Then came the show and tell portion. Eric brought along an assortment of quilts that were a treat for the eyes. Also in his bag of tricks were some samples of rope baskets with a variety of patterns and wonderful finishes on the tops.

After this, the fun really began. We had so many ladies who wanted to attend the Sit and Sew, it was divided into two parts - one on Saturday following lunch and one on Sunday afternoon.

It was a most informative session on free motion sewing. Eric was everywhere, fixing, teaching, and helping. What a fountain of information he is on every aspect of sewing. We stuffed knowledge on stabillizers and stitching without the feed dogs till our heads were ready to burst.

We can brag also that Eric thought our members were easy to teach and picked up everything quickly. The Ocala Chapter is ready to take on anything that comes our way.
