The mission of the American Sewing Guild is
“Advancing Sewing as an Art and Life Skill.”

The American Sewing Guild (ASG) is a national organization, with chapters throughout the USA. Each chapter has neighborhood groups that serve ASG members in their immediate area. Ocala Chapter is one of Florida’s 14 chapters. ASG Ocala spans north central Florida from Leesburg on the south to Live Oak on the north. We have more than 100 members and six neighborhood groups that meet monthly in locations throughout our area. ASG’s monthly neighborhood group meeting programs address the needs of sewers from beginner to advanced, and cover every kind of sewing imaginable. It has been said, that, “If you can stick a needle and thread into it, we probably do it.” Neighborhood group meetings are where we share successes, solve problems, and share ideas.Members participate in community service projects locally and nationally. We make needed items for nursing homes, stuffed animals for needy children, chemo caps for cancer patients, and work with other groups to support our service men and women overseas.Several times a year, professionals in the sewing field come to our chapter to present special programs and hands-on workshops.
